Privacy Policy

Effective October 24, 2026

The short version: you can play PuzzlBall without an account, and then nothing that identifies you leaves your device. An account is only needed for leagues: then we keep your email, display name, leagues and puzzle times. We don't show ads, don't track you, and don't sell your data. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app.

Who we are

PuzzlBall is operated by BettrBall LLC ("we", "us"). This policy covers the PuzzlBall website at puzzl.bettrball.com and the PuzzlBall apps for iPhone and Android.

Playing without an account

Your puzzles, times, progress and settings are saved only on your device.
When you start or solve the public Daily, the app sends an anonymous count: the Daily's number, the board size, your solve time and whether you're on iPhone, Android or the web. It contains no account, name or device ID, so it can't be linked to you. We use it only to know how many people play.

If you create an account (for leagues)

Account details: your email address, your password (stored only in scrambled, hashed form; we can't read it) and the display name you choose.
League activity: the leagues you create or join, and your League Daily start and finish times.
Your public Daily results already saved on your device (which Daily, board size and time taken), copied to your account when you sign in so your history follows you.

Puzzl+ purchases

Puzzl+ is bought through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handle the payment; we never see your card or payment details.
RevenueCat manages purchases for us. It gives your app an anonymous ID and records which Puzzl+ plan it has and when it renews or ends. If you're signed in, that purchase is linked to your account so it works on your other devices.

Technical information

Like any website or app, the services that host PuzzlBall receive your IP address and basic request details (such as device and browser type) when you use it.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos or payment details, and we don't use any third-party advertising, analytics or tracking tools.

How we use it

To run your account and sign you in, including password-reset emails.
To run leagues: give you each day's League Daily, record your times and show standings.
To give you Puzzl+ when you've bought it.
To keep PuzzlBall working and secure, including fixing problems and preventing abuse.

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

What other players can see

People in your leagues can see your display name, your League Daily times, and your results and standings. Your email address is never shown to other players.

Services we use

PuzzlBall relies on a few service providers, who handle data only to provide their service:

Supabase: our database and sign-in system, which stores accounts, leagues and the anonymous counts.
Resend: sends sign-in and password-reset emails.
RevenueCat: manages Puzzl+ purchases, together with Apple and Google, who process the payments.
Netlify: hosts the PuzzlBall website.
Google Fonts: delivers the app's fonts, so Google receives your IP address when they load.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep account information while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time:

In the app or on the website: Leagues → Delete account (tap it twice to confirm).
By email: write to support@bettrball.com from the address you signed up with, and we'll delete your account within 30 days.

Deleting your account removes your email, password, display name, league memberships and saved times right away. Leagues you run pass to their longest-standing member. Puzzles saved on your device stay there until you delete the app. A Puzzl+ subscription is not cancelled by deleting your account: cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings. Deleted information may remain in our service providers' routine backups for a limited time (typically no more than 30 days) before it's overwritten.

Children

PuzzlBall is a puzzle game anyone can play without an account. Accounts are not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

Your data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwords are stored hashed, and database rules limit each player to the information they're allowed to see. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your choices and rights

You can change your display name and delete your account in the app at any time. You can also contact us to ask for a copy of your information or for help correcting or deleting it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we'll honor those requests.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll let you know in the app.
